Physician and Researcher
Dr. Gregory Hunt was a highly credentialed Canadian physician and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (F.R.C.P.). As a prominent medical professional within the Seventh-day Adventist community in Ontario, his departure from the sect in the early 1980s sent shockwaves through the denomination.
His landmark 1981 work, Beware This Cult!, was one of the first major exposés written from a medical and psychological perspective. Dr. Hunt applied his scientific training to scrutinize the visions of Ellen G. White, concluding that her "Spirit of Prophecy" was not divine in origin. His courageous decision to go public with his findings remains a significant chapter in the history of the 1980s Adventist theological crisis. Even today, this book remains one of the most damning exposés of Ellen White.
