October 2026 Newsletter

In the spring of 1915, Ellen White lay in bed with a broken hip. Some days she could not finish a sentence. Her own son wrote that she would “begin a sentence and then drop it when half way through,” and that it was “only occasionally now that she fully and clearly understands where she is.”

Meanwhile, nearly every week, the Review and Herald printed a brand-new article on Old Testament history under her name.

Who was writing them?

She died that July. The articles kept coming. Two more ran in the Review after her funeral. In 1917, the book based on these articles, Prophets and Kings, was released as the last inspired work of her pen.

Here is the dark story the White Estate doesn't want told. A well-meaning staff wrote a book for Ellen White when she was too incapacitated to lift her pen.

If you have ever wondered whether there was a man behind the curtain, read this free online book. If you know an SDA who still treats Prophets and Kings as light from heaven, send it to them. The evidence speaks for itself.

Profits and Kings

A Pious Fraud

Profits and Kings

Prophets and Kings was sold as the crowning volume of Ellen White's Conflict of the Ages series, history “opened up in greater detail” by vision. This new online book follows the paper trail from her office at Elmshaven and finds something else entirely: a prophet who had all but stopped writing by 1913, a staff that assembled the book from plagiarized sermons, histories, and Bible commentaries, and a publishing empire that cared more about profit than the prophet. Purporting to be an inspired commentary of the Old Testament, the book is full of mistakes, historical errors, and twisted theology. Examine the evidence for yourself.

“I have written many books,
all of which will stand the test of investigation.”
