The Ellen G. White Investigation
The unvarnished truth about the claims of Ellen G. White
"If the pillars of our faith will not stand the test of investigation, it is time that we knew it."
Ellen White, Bible Echo, Oct. 15, 1882
What This Investigation Is
nonegw.org is an independent, non-denominational investigation into the claims and teachings of Ellen G. White. We aren't bankrolled by a corporate sect, and our focus isn't on "damage control." Our focus in on facts.
Since 2007, this project has served as the definitive archive for the facts you won't hear in Sabbath School. We provide a raw, ethical, and historical look at the woman whose writings serve as the foundational authority for millions. Whether you’re a curious reader or an avid researcher, we provide the verifiable documentation you need to discover the full picture—not just the official version.
Why This Work Exists
Within Seventh-day Adventism, Ellen G. White is more than a figurehead—she is the architect of its identity. Her writings shape doctrine, institutional policy, education, medicine, and spiritual identity for millions worldwide.
Yet serious critical inquiry into her prophetic claims, literary practices, historical accuracy, and theological consistency has often been discouraged or restricted. While SDA corporate denominational platforms provide exhaustive defenses of her work, critical documentation remains sparse. How can an individual make an accurate and informed decision regarding Ellen White when only provided with sound-bytes designed to enhance her prophetic credentials?
This investigation exists to correct that imbalance.
Research Standards
This isn't a "whitewashed" version of history. We’re digging into the raw material that gets left out of Sabbath School quarterlies:
- Original Manuscripts: Seeing what was written before the editors cleansed it.
- Eyewitness Accounts: Testimony from the people who knew the Whites.
- Documented Evidence: Hard proof that defies mind-bending explanations.
- Fact-Checked: Comparing claims to scientific, medical, and historical facts.
No myths here. No fantastical claims. Just plain facts.
Our Position
This site does not approach Ellen White’s prophetic claims from a position of neutrality. After decades of research, the historical record does not support the claim that she was divinely inspired.
That position is stated openly. At the same time, readers are encouraged to examine all evidence—favorable and unfavorable—and reach their own conclusions. Truth does not fear investigation.
From Insider to Investigator
Brother Anderson didn't start out as an outsider. He was on the inside for 33-years. He was a deacon. A small group leader. A writer for an SDA radio ministry. An Ellen White advocate. But in 1998, while studying in the archives of an SDA university, he found the one thing he wasn't supposed to find: the truth about Ellen White.
He spent months trying to reconcile the "official" version of Ellen White with the actual historical record. He couldn't. Brother Anderson resigned his membership and launched this site to give everyone else the same access to the files that changed his life for better.
And no, he has not recanted nor will he ever recant.
Who This Site Serves
- The Truth-Seeker: People who believe that the SDA General Conference isn't the sole source of truth.
- The Ex-Adventist: Anyone seeking assurance that leaving was the right move.
- The Doubter: The SDA member who’s tired of being told to "just have faith" when the facts don't jive with the official narrative.
- The Skeptic: Those who value hard evidence over whitewashed fairy tales.
- The Insider: Pastors and leaders who have seen enough smoke to know there's a fire!
"We aren't here to destroy your faith. We’re here to share truth that will destroy the chains that bind you. Because a faith that cannot withstand the truth is not worth having."
— Brother Anderson, D.Min.
