As reported in the Orlando Business Journal (Sep. 2025), AdventHealth in Orlando announced a new $660 million expansion to their already massive medical network. This mega-hospital has a 172-acre campus and a network of over 20 hospitals in the metro area. With this new addition, AdventHealth in Orlando will solidify its standing as the undisputed largest hospital in the United States. AdventHealth has invested literally billions of dollars in the Orlando market in recent decades.

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing them at all. I applaud the fact that they are the #1 rated hospital in the state of Florida. I'm proud of what they have accomplished and the fine work they are doing. What I find ironic, though, is that their own prophet wrote decidedly and repeatedly against large medical institutions:

"the Lord has shown me by revelation that it is not His plan for...large institutions to be established..." (8T 204)

"Our sanitariums are not to be erected in the cities. Upon this point God has given definite instruction. The cities are corrupt, and we are not to invest our means in the establishment of large institutions in them." (Ms 85, 1903)

Once again, I must admit that I'm proud of AdventHealth for their absolute defiance of Ellen White. This is definitive proof that SDA leaders do not regard Ellen White's testimonies as relevant. They may give lip-service to her because the whole empire would come tumbling down without her. But if you want to know what they really believe, follow the money!

Speaking of following the money, that's what this newsletter is about. Ellen White followed the money, so it's no surprise that her followers are doing likewise.

While trumpeting the imminent return of Christ to others, they have followed the footsteps of James and Ellen White, investing heavily in institutions as if they are planning on staying forever. In terms of investments on this planet, the SDA Church ranks third — behind the Catholics and Mormons — in terms of institutional assets. This is the strange dichotomy that we find in the life of Ellen White, and I hope you enjoy our new articles on the subject of Ellen White: The Spirit of Profits.
