April 2026 Newsletter
After 1844, mainstream Millerites were trying to rebuild bridges with the Christian community. Meanwhile, another faction was torching those bridges. Led by a radicalized teenager claiming a direct hotline to the throne of God, this “Little Flock” had no interest in reconciliation. They were too occupied shouting at the devil—and confidently informing everyone outside their circle that they would die the death.

By late 1845, the contrast was almost theatrical. On one side stood an aging William Miller, pushing back against fanaticism and pleading for unity and Christian charity. On the other stood a brash teenage visionary, doubling down on division—insisting that God’s love came with fine print and that obedience to the Ten Commandments was the entry fee. For Miller, the war with fellow Christians was cooling down. For Ellen White, it was just heating up.

If Adventism had remained a movement focused on proclaiming the good news of Christ’s return, it might have been a genuine blessing. Instead, it was commandeered. Under the leadership of Ellen and James White, the trajectory shifted sharply. Prophecy became weaponized against rival Christian groups. Protestants were recast as enemies. The sect's leaders dabbled in fanaticism, abandoned the Protestant gospel message, and followed the money.

This newsletter explores the Spirit of Sectarianism, Ellen White's false doctrine of conditional love, the most shocking (and hell-inspired) letter Ellen White wrote (to the Borwells), and a variety of other topics. Please share with your friends on social media.

Ellen White introduced a theological reset—one that quietly dismantled the core achievement of the Protestant Reformation. In place of salvation by grace alone through faith alone, she advanced a system where even God’s love was no longer free, but conditioned on human obedience.

While God called His people to unity, Ellen White drew battle lines. To the chagrin of early Adventist leaders, she cultivated division—labeling all Sunday-keepers as "unbelievers," weaponizing Bible prophecy against them, and positioning her sect not as one part of the broader Christian body, but as the body.

The Sword of Fire Myth
The Battle Creek Sanitarium on Fire

For over a century, Seventh-day Adventists have pointed to the Battle Creek fires as proof of Ellen White’s prophetic gift. This article pulls the plug on that narrative—showing that the “prophecy” was a conditional threat, the “sword vision” was not published until after the fact, and the outcome just happened to benefit Mrs. White and A.G. Daniells in their epic power struggle with Dr. Kellogg.

  Toward A Third Testament
Examines how the SDA sect has abandoned the Protestant principle of Sola Scriptura and has functionally elevated Ellen White's writings to the level of Scripture, creating a de facto Third Testament that subordinates the Bible to White's interpretations.
  Edson's Cornfield "Vision"
This article analyzes the reliability of Hiram Edson's autobiographical manuscript describing his October 23, 1844 cornfield experience, arguing that it reflects later influences and later theological developments, and should be treated as apocryphal literature rather than primary historical evidence.
The Spirit of Sectarianism
